According to various media reports, many Illinois Police Departments will be conducting special DUI enforcement this Super Bowl Sunday. Assume that will mean many roadblocks (a/k/a DUI checkpoints) and increased patrols.
Here are some of the media stories I have seen:
Illinois State Police and Department of Transportation officials say state to target impaired drivers on Super Bowl Sunday. Here’s another story from downstate about the State Police’s enforcement plans.
Kane County will be conducting another one of their infamous “no-refusal” days on Super Bowl Sunday. That’s where, if you refuse to consent to a breath test, they will seek a search warrant from a judge to have blood drawn from you against your will.
Villa Park to run special patrols to check on seat belts and inebriated drivers from January 27th to February 5th. Somehow, this is because of the Super Bowl.
