Now that the regular season is over, it is time for the NFL’s second season to begin — the arrest season.
#1 Vikings rookie cornerback Jabari Price (from the StarTribune):
Vikings rookie cornerback Jabari Price was arrested early Monday, the morning after the team’s season-ending win over Chicago, on a misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired.
A state trooper observed Price driving above the speed limit southbound on Interstate Hwy. 35W and pulled him over at 60th Street at 3:18 a.m. The trooper “detected impairment in the driver,” according to the State Patrol incident report, and administered a breathalyzer test. Price had a blood alcohol count of 0.13 and was arrested.
#2 Jets linebacker Jermaine Cunningham (from NJ.com):
Jets outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham has been accused of spreading sexual images and illegally transporting a handgun in his Audi.
Cunningham was arrested Dec. 29 at his Lafayette Avenue apartment in Summit after police responded to a 911 call from someone near the apartment, said Mark Spivey, spokesman for the Union County Prosecutor’s office.
Details of the events were sketchy, but police said they received the call at about 4:15 p.m.
While officers were at the scene, they obtained Cunningham’s consent to search his Audi, and found a .380 handgun in the glove compartment, Spivey said.
He said Cunningham was charged with third-degree invasion of privacy under a state law that prohibits the disclosure of sexual images of a person without the individual’s consent. Spivey declined to give further details surrounding that charge.
Cunningham also was charged with criminal mischief for the destruction of clothing, Spivey said. Information about just what clothes were destroyed and how was not available.
