Woman gets DWI with 0.26 BAC by drinking vanilla extract

You learn something new every day.  I did not know that vanilla extract was equivalent to vodka.

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

An upstate New York woman who was found driving erratically in a Wal-Mart parking lot told officers she was drinking vanilla extract after being arrested for a DWI.

Carolyn Kesel, 46, of Seneca Falls, New York, had a blood alcohol level of .26, more than three times the state’s legal limit.

According to ABC 7, police said the vanilla extract she was drinking was 41 percent alcohol, which is similar to vodka or gin.
