From CBS Sports:
Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor was arrested in Palm Beach County on Friday for suspicion of DUI, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed to WPTV.
According to police, Taylor was driving his Bentley on the highway around 5:20 p.m. when he hit a motorhome and sideswiped a police car. Damage to the police car was minimal, however, Taylor did take out one of the vehicle’s side mirrors with his Bentley.
Police also added that no one was injured during the accident.
The former Giants linebacker was then taken to the Palm Beach County jail after performing “poorly” on a roadside sobriety test. While he was being processed, the 1986 NFL MVP admitted that he probably had “too much” to drink before he decided to drive.
The DUI charge is just the latest legal woe for the long-time NFL linebacker, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999. Taylor, who spent 13 seasons with the Giants and won two Super Bowls, pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute in 2011.
In that case, the 57-year-old was sentenced to six years of probation.
